Our Fishing Guides

Pat Boulton

Guide | 30' Pursuit, "B Positive"

Pat Boulton has decades of experience fishing Tofino and Vancouver Island. As a young boy in the 1980’s, Pat spent his childhood in Tofino salmon fishing and then delivering salmon to the neighboring town of Ucluelet.

Pat took his passion for Tofino fishing into commercial fishing where he fished for Salmon, Cod and Halibut until 1984. Then, as the geoduck fishery started to boom, Pat transferred his skills and knowledge into geoduck diving. Pat has dove the Vancouver Island coast from North to South more times than he can count.

In 1994, Pat returned to his hometown of Tofino and shared his local fishing knowledge with his start-up, "Pat's Tackle and Charters". However, the lure of the geoduck fishery pulled Pat back into geoduck diving for several years until the great opportunity to guide again came with joining the Tofino Fishing Club.

When not guiding, Pat enjoys putting his skill for reeling in 'the big one' to the test. Recently, Pat has a first place finish in the Hooked on Miracles Fishing Derby in 2012, a second place finish in the 2014 Hooked on Miracles Fishing Derby, and a first place finish in the Tofino Saltwater ClassicFishing Derby in 2012. in 2014.
Pat is both knowledgeable and entertaining on the water. Any time I visit Tofino I make it a must to book time with Pat.

Allan Chase

Guide | 25' Pursuit, "Chase~n~Tail"

Fishing experience and formal education make Allan Chase an incredible Tofino fishing guide.

Allan grew up lake trolling and fly-fishing with his grandfather. His family’s annual fishing trip to the Alaska Pan Handle sparked his love and curiosity for fishing in the ocean.

In 1997, Allan began professionally guiding in the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida Gwaii). After guiding there for 7 years, Allan moved to Tofino where he has guided ever since. From these 17 years’ experience in guiding, Allan has bragging rights to 23 Chinook reel-in’s that were over 50 pounds!

Complimenting Allan’s fishing experience is his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Seattle Pacific University. Allan has an incredible knowledge of marine life, which only makes him a better fisherman.

Not only does Allan guide, he is also the owner and operator of a 10 person, ocean view Tofino accommodation called "Tofino House".
I have fished many locations around the world and every year I make it my top priority to make it out to Tofino and fish with Allan Chase

Ryan Erickson

Guide | 25' Pursuit, "Early Spring 2"

Akin to the other guides at the Tofino Fishing Club, Ryan’s story is filled with generations of Tofino fishing expertise and Tofino knowledge.

Ryan was born and raised in Tofino. The joy and skill of fishing in Tofino was passed down to Ryan at an early age. In fact, at the age of 8, Ryan began working alongside his dad on a commercial fishing boat where they long-lined black cod and halibut.

As an adult, Ryan knew his passion in life was fishing. He began guiding professionally at the age of 18 with his first boat in Tofino. Twenty-years later, Ryan is still guiding and sharing his passion for Tofino fishing.

Ryan won the 2013 Tofino Saltwater ClassicFishing Derby in 2012..
I would highly recommend Ryan if a fishing trip to Tofino is in your future plans.
